About Penny Abshire:
Penny Abshire is a born performer! In addition to being a classically trained concert pianist and performing since the age of 7, she has extensive experience in theater and has a natural talent for acting and communicating with audiences of all sizes. She also trained as a dancer and performed professionally for many years. However, as often happens, life moved Penny away from the performing arts into a 26-year career in estate law.
At the tender age of 47 (after being introduced to the world of VO), Penny joined James Alburger at VoiceActing.com as a writer, voice talent, and producer of award-winning radio commercials. She co-teaches The Art of Voice Acting workshops with James, and is the co-founder and executive producer of the VoiceOver International Creative Experience (VOICE). She is a gifted director, coach and author who is passionate about guiding others along the path to their dreams.
Penny is also the founder of Positive Thinkers UNITE—the largest group on VoiceOver Universe and a very popular group on Facebook. Her positive and upbeat personality has been a beacon of light to many who often struggle with maintaining a positive attitude in a “crazy” business. She has been an inspiration to many.
Penny is the recipient of the prestigious Omni Intermedia Award for excellence in copy writing, a Communicator Award for production, and multiple Silver Microphone Awards for performance, among other accolades. She is a respected and sought-after professional speaker and author of the popular eBook, Demo and Marketing Magic for Voice Actors.
