About James Alburger:
For more than 35 years, James Alburger has worked with voice over artists as a voice actor, director, performer and studio engineer in Los Angeles and San Diego. For 25 years he was a director and audio producer for NBC in San Diego, where he received 11 Emmy Awards. Following his television career, James moved into professional voice over and creative services. He established VoiceActing.com and VoiceActing Studios, for which he received numerous Omni Intermedia Awards, the Communicator Award, and multiple Silver Microphone Awards for his work.
James’ critically acclaimed book, The Art of Voice Acting, focuses on the voice over performer as an actor. This internationally acclaimed book, used as a theater arts textbook by more than a dozen universities in the U.S. alone, is the foundation for VoiceActing Academy workshops and seminar training, in which James teaches his voice acting techniques with his business partner, Penny Abshire. In addition, James has written one of the most comprehensive books on how to build a home studio: The Voice Actor’s Guide to Professional Home Recording.
James and Penny also provide a training resource to help business executives and sales/marketing staff more effectively communicate their company’s message to their audience. Together this dynamic team co-produces the VoiceOver International Creative Experience (also known as VOICE), which is the original international convention for voice over talent, and the largest convention of its kind.
