A lot of VO auditions are taking place at home. And many of you are doing those auditions at whatever time you can, and wearing whatever you want. It’s fine to wear your footie pajamas to an audition at home, but not when you go out to meet a casting director. My webinar talks about some unwritten rules of auditioning, and what’s expected of you when you audition at a casting office. It may seem like common sense to treat a casting office with respect, but VO actors have a bad reputation as being less than respectful. About Ed Lewis:
Ed Lewis is a commercial casting director and voice over instructor/demo producer at Shut Up and Talk, a major voice over recording studio in New York City.
Ed has cast voice actors to animation, including voices in the movies Up and The Princess and the Frog, and in TV shows for Nickelodeon, including The Wonder Pets.
He’s also cast film and television, working on Chappelle’s Show, The Wire, Secret Window with Johnny Depp, and Basic with John Travolta.
Ed spent 3 years as the lead voice over agent with Arcieri and Associates, a premier boutique talent agency in New York. At Arcieri, he booked clients on numerous national network voice over campaigns such as Denny’s, Liberty Mutual, Kohl’s, McDonald’s, Xfinity, AT&T, Aflac, Windex, Geico, Sonic and many others. As a commercial casting director, Ed has worked on spots for Coke, Bud Light, AT&T, Chase and more.
Ed was also an acting instructor at the William Esper Studio.
