Presenting:
VOCAL HEALTH – Anatomy of the Voice: Vocal Health Problems and Prevention

The human voice is an incredibly versatile, and frustratingly fragile, instrument. The larynx, located in the throat behind the Adam’s apple, is hidden, so that vocal performers are not able to see their instrument. My presentation demystifies the larynx (voice box) and includes voice anatomy for the beginner student through the advanced voice professional. After establishing an understanding of how the voice works, we cover voice problems and injuries. Finally, I explain injury prevention, including tips for how to protect and preserve your voice and how to know if something is wrong. You will become an educated consumer of the voice medicine marketplace, learning what to ask if you do need medical assistance—and how to avoid needing it in the first place.
