HOME STUDIO – Basic Audio Editing
This is a beginner’s primer on the basics of digital audio editing. I’ll take you through a non-intimidating, non-geeky, anyone-can-understand journey on how to create the proper continuity to your voice tracks, clean up mistakes, properly space pauses and repair minor flaws that will save a good take from being completely re-done. These are vital skills to have if you’re recording at home. I’ll be demonstrating the use of several different software platforms, including Audacity, Adobe Audition and Twisted Wave.

* Why set up a home studio?
* How to choose a space;
* How to choose a microphone;
* Computers for recording: Mac vs. PC, advantages and disadvantages;
* Digital interfaces: what they are, how to choose;
* Software for recording and editing;
* Tablet recording with iPads and Android devices; and
